We Are the World 2010 remake ARTISTS: who sang for HAITI?

A new version of We Are the World is coming out in the next few days. Recorded a couple of days ago, the new We Are the World version is the music industry's response to relief efforts for Haiti and its people. Spearheaded by the song's composer, Lionel Richie (who co-wrote the original with Michael Jackson) and producer Quincy Jones, the remake will feature some of the brightest stars in the recording industry. Over 75 musicians were involved in the recording, which was held in the same place as the
original. Also similar to the 1985 process, some of the participating musicians were already in Los Angeles to attend the Grammy Awards.

The We Are the World official music video won't be released until the NBC coverage of the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics Friday, February 12. However, behind the scenes 2010 We Are the World VIDEOS are already out. The new version will feature updated lyrics and music, as well as a rap segment pertaining to Haiti. According to Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson's younger sister Janet will take her late brother's part in the song. Haitian-American musician Wyclef Jean will also serve as a producer.
