Is Paula Abdul back in American Idol, or is Kara DioGuardi turning into a Paula? What am I Talking about? The tears. Kara DioGuardi did a Paula Abdul last night during the Top 8 guys' performance night, crying after a performance and doing a standing ovation to boot. But for the record, Kara was absolutely right. Many of us were moved by the performance of Big Mike Lynche last night, and he deserved that satnding ovation from Kara and, yes, including the tears.

Big Mike really brought justice to that Kate Bush original and added something extra tom it as well. Knowing that he recently became a dad even made the song more meaning for him, more special.
This Woman's Work meaning: what do the lyrics of This Woman's Work mean? - Like She's Having A Baby, the movie for which the song was written, the lyrics are about being forced to suddenly confront reality and adulthood in times of crisis. Director John Hughes uses the song during the film's dramatic climax, when Jake (Kevin Bacon) learns that the lives of his wife (Elizabeth McGovern) and their unborn child are in danger. As the song plays, we see a montage sequence of flashbacks showing the couple in happier times, intercut with shots of him waiting for news of Elizabeth and their baby's condition.
