Pacquiao vs Clottey fight update: Manny Pacquiao injured?

The fight between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey is but a few days away, and both fighters are finishing up with their training and preparations for the big event in Dallas. But how true is the report that Manny Pacquiao is injured?

Is this true? With the fight scheduled only a few days from now, this may be a crucial factor in the Filipino fighter's chances of winning. According to veteran boxing analyst Ronnie Nathanielsz, any problem in Pacquiao’s legs could affect his advantage against most boxers inside
the ring. The boxing analyst said that Pacquiao’s speed could suffer if there indeed some leg pain, and also said that there could be some truth to the rumor that Pacquiao’s conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, has somehow admitted that the Filipino champ has recovered from some sort of pain.

Reports are that Pacquiao has sustained sustained a serious leg injury while preparing for his welterweight title defense against Ghana’s Joshua Clottey. But the Filipino champ's camp has immediately denied such claims, dismissing the “slight pain” as a mere sore muscle in his leg. He was reported to have shown reporters his fancy footwork to prove that the injury rumors are false.

"It was just shin splints. It's not really an injury. It's more of a nuisance,” said 4-time Trainer of the Year Freddie Roach.
