Andy Roddick is out of Wimbledon 2010! Yes, last year's finalist, Roddick has been upset by Lu Yen-hsun of Taiwan. Lu who? The name may not ring a bell yet but watch out for Taiwan's Lu Yen-hsun. Ranked 82nd in the world, the gutsy player made it known that he has the capability to beat the world's best, as he demonstrated in this match against Andy Roddick, winning with a score of 4-6, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 9-7.
Another disappointment for Roddick. He was a finalist last year, narrowly missing the title after losing to Roger Federer in an exciting final that almost went his way. “It never gets easier,” said Roddick, a three-time runner-up at Wimbledon. “Of course I’m going to be (ticked) off when I wake up tomorrow. I mean, if you got fired from your job, you probably wouldn’t wake up the next day in a great mood.”
Nobody expected Andy to lose this match to Lu Yen-hsun. In fact, people were already looking forward to a quarterfinal meeting with Novak Djokovic and how exciting that match would be. Roddick, after all, is a former No. 1 who won the 2003 US Open and played in four other major finals, losing each to Roger Federer, including 16-14 in the fifth set here in 2009. But now it's back to the drawing board for the American number 1.
