The shake up at American Idol continues. After Ellen DeGeneres announced she is leaving, there's news that Kara DioGuardi has been FIRED from American Idol! Yes, Kara DioGuardi is out! Is this true? If it is then my prayers have been answered. Let me correct that - OUR prayers have been answered!
Kara DioGuardi has never fitted in. On her first American Idol season, fans voiced out their sentiments against her. Still she was retained for another season. Though there was an improvement, Kara still couldn't quite seem
to connect with the audience. According to TMZ, Kara DioGuardi's contract was not renewed for a third season. Apparently, unlike her other co-judges, she was on a per year basis.
No confirmation yet from Fox about this but if it turns out to be true then that leaves three vacancies on the judging panel with Randy Jackson the only one left standing. But wait, according to TMZ, American Idol will be going back to the three-judge format. So that leaves two vacancies.
Jennifer Lopez was earlier reported to fill in the spot vacated by Ellen DeGeneres. And Chris Isaak is rumored to take the other vacancy. But a new name has surfaced - Steven Tyler! Yes, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler is now rumored to be the third American Idol judge.
No confirmation from American Idol on all of these developments. I guess we'll have to wait for Monday for the official announcement. Fox is scheduled to make a few announcements at the Television and Critics Association event on Monday and hopefully, this will be one of them.
