Will Chris Isaak be the new American Idol judge for next season? Rumors abound that Isaak will replace Simon Cowell as the new American Idol judge when season 10 gets underway in September. They are already doing preliminary auditions in several cities right now and panel judging will start with the next round of auditions in September.
There have been many names floated as Simon Cowell's replacement. Brett Michaels was one. Harry Connick Jr. and Donald Trump were the other names among many
who were said to have been considered by Idol producers to fill the American Idol judge vacancy. But insiders say Chris Isaak is the clear front runner of the lot.
Simon Cowell announced his departure from American Idol last season, the main reason for which is in preparation for The X Factor which will premiere on Fox in September 2011. When American Idol season 10 opens, Randy Jackson will be the only original judge left on the show. Paula Abdul left two season ago.
