Elections in Arizona are to be held in November 2010. One of the positions to be contested is that of governor of the sate with Jan Brewer trying to continue her term and Arizona's controversial immigration law. In the primaries held yesterday, Brewer comfortably defeated her foes for the Republican (GOP) nomination, getting more than 87% of the vote. Her foe is November will be Democratic Party nominee Terry Goddard who ran unopposed.

Senate in other states as well as elections to the ouse of Representatives and various state and local elections. Senator John McCain is running for his fifth term in the Senate. After funneling around $21 million into his campaign, McCain successfully withstood a primary challenge from former US Congressman J.D. Hayworth for the Republican nomination.
