It is the first movie I remember watching. I don't know how old I was, but The Sound of Music just stuck to my memory. The Sound of Music is 45 years old, and Oprah held a reunion on her show. Julie Andrews was there, Christopher Plummer, plus the seven 'Von Trapp children' now all grown up - Liesl, Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta and Gretl. It was so nice seeing all of them together. And according to Oprah, it was their first interview together since the movie premiered
45 years ago! This was truly something special.
The Sound of Music is special to many of us. Like myself, it probably was the first movie many remember watching. And many of us have seen it dozens of times since then. But no matter how many times you see it, it's just like watching The Sound of Music the first time.
The story is so captivating. But it was the music that kept us coming back, watching it over and over again. What was you favorite in the movie? As a child, for me it was My Favorite Things, Do Re Mi and, of course, The Lonely Goatherd! Oh, how I wished I had a puppet set like that at home. I asked Santa for one every Christmas but it never came. When I got older, the message of Climb Every Mountain enlightened me.
