Stanford Women's Basketball Ends UConn Streak At 90 (VIDEO Highlights)

The win streak of the UConn women's basketball team is gone. Stanford has ended Connecticut's win streak at 90. After several near misses against the Huskies, the Stanford women's basketball team finally beat UConn. Connecticut’s remarkable run is over, a 90-game winning streak stopped by an inspired Stanford squad determined to protect its own impressive mark: 52 straight home wins at Maples Pavilion.

How did the Stanford women's basketball team do it? They had a blazing start. The ninth-ranked Cardinals took the lead from the opening tip, firing their guns, and kept firm hold of the lead until the final buzzer of a 71-59 victory. It was an early 13-point lead that inspired the Cardinal, and set the pace throughout the game.

The Stanford women's basketball team had almost beaten the Huskies before - one in the Final Four, another that cost the Cardinal the 2010 NCAA title. This time, the Cardinal made sure they were going to win.

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl 2011 LIVE: Oklahoma vs UConn (Sooners vs Huskies)

Who will win the 2011 Fiesta Bowl? Will it be the Oklahoma Sooners or the Connecticut Huskies? The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl 2011 will be played on Saturday, January 1, at the University of Phoenix Stadium at 8:30 PM ET. LIVE Coverage will be brought to us via ESPN. 2011 marks the 40th anniversary of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl game, which was started in 1971 at Sun Devil Stadium.

The Oklahoma Sooners are favored to win the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. However, the Sooners have not been very lucky in this championship. Despite this being their fifth Fiesta Bowl appearance and their third in the last five years, the Fiesta Bowl has not been kind to the Sooners, who have not won in the bowl since 1976. They lost in their last Fiesta Bowl appearance to West Virginia.

For the Connecticut Huskies, meanwhile, there is nothing to lose. This is the first Fiesta Bowl appearance by the Huskies, as well as their first overall BCS bowl.

Times Square Ball Drop iPhone App: Watch New Year's Eve Event From Your Apple & Android Gadgets

The new year is almost here, and in a few hours, the Times Square Ball Drop will start the 2011 new year countdown. Idiot With A Tripod Short Film by Jamie Stuart (VIDEO) Hailed as Oscar Worthy by Roger Ebert

The crippling blizzard that hit the northeastern United States happened just four days ago, and now there's a short film about it being hailed as Academy Award material. How was it made so fast? That's just what renowned film critic Roger Ebert asked when he saw Idiot with a Tripod, the short film by Jamie Stuart. Ebert could not believe Stuart came up with Idiot with a Tripod (aka Man in a Blizzard) so quickly, and with such excellent quality. Now Roger Ebert thinks Jamie Stuart's short film is

Oscar-worthy, an Academy Award contender in the Live-Action Short category.

The story goes that Jamie Stuart broke out with a camera (a Canon 7D) and a tripod once the storm started battering his area - Astoria, Queens. He captured the blizzard as it started, and how the people struggled and coped with it. It's a short, vivid account of the beauty and wrath of nature. Jamie Stuart edited his work using Final Cut Pro and sent a copy of Idiot with a Tripod to Roger Ebert.

Now, Idiot with a Tripod is being viewed everywhere as word spread about its quality - thanks to Roger Ebert. Will Idiot with a Tripod win an Oscar in the Live-Action Short category? Let's wait and see.

Snooki Ball Drop on New Year's Eve LIVE: Not in Times Square But in Jersey

The New Year's Eve Ball Drop in Times Square is an annual tradition. But there's a new ball drop that hope to start a tradition of its own. The Nicole Polizzi, aka Snooki, ball drop. Jersey Shore star Snooki will be placed inside a giant ball and dropped as the new year is counted down!

The ball drop featuring Snooki was originally planned in Times Square. But organizers of the original event turned it down, citing that the request

"came too late and was too impractical to fit in to our outdoor events." Not to mention that the Snooki ball drop is a publicity stunt trying to ride on the popularity of the Times Square event for more media mileage. (And it's in bad taste as well, as is almost everything about the reality star!)

But fans of Snooki (all six of you) should not worry. The event has been rescued. The ball drop will push through in Jersey. Seaside Heights, New Jersey to be exact, the original setting for the hit reality show. Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Colorado Springs

News just in - A Delta Airlines plane has made an emergency landing at Colorado Springs airport. Reports say the Delta flight had engine trouble. More than 200 people were on the plane and they were quickly evacuated after fire broke out after the emergency landing. The passengers were evacuated to the tarmac as emergency crews arrived. Reports further say two passengers had been taken to hospital for treatment. The injuries were sustained on the slide while evacuation from the airplane.

Facebook Beats Google: Most Visited Website Of The Year

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has scored a triple whammy for 2011. First, when Facebook reached 550 millions members. Second, being named TIME Person of the Year for 2011. And third, and probably the biggest one of all, Facebook is the number 1 visited website on the web. In fact, it has beaten Google!

Facebook is the most visited website on the web according to Hitwise

which says Facebook "accounted for 8.93 percent of all US visits between January and November 2010." The social media giant was third last year behind Google and Yahoo Mail. In 2008, it ranked ninth on Hitwise's list, trailing Google, MySpace, and eBay. What a jump it had this year!

For 2010, Facebook accounted for 8.93 of all US visits while Google made up 7.19 percent of visits and Yahoo! Mail ranked third with 3.52 percent of visits. Yahoo! claimed 3.30 percent of visits, and YouTube 2.65 percent.

2011 Pasadena Rose Bowl Parade Floats LIVE Online, Paula Deen Grand Marshal

It's finally here. The most watched event of New Year Year's Day, with an audience in the tens of millions worldwide eagerly awaiting to see the latest floats and pageantry from Pasadena, California. It's no other than the Tournament of Roses Parade 2011. Watch the Rose Parade 2011 live online on January 1, 2011 and see the colorful floats and marching bands participating.

The Tournament of Roses Parade, better known as the Rose Parade or the Pasadena Rose Parade, is America's New Year Celebration, a festival of flowers, music and equestrians and a college football game on New Year's Day. For 2011, the theme is “Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories” presented by Honda with celebrity chef Paula Deen as Grand Marshal.

The 2011 Rose Queen is Evanne Elizabeth Friedmann, a 17 year old La Canada High School student. Chosen together with Evanne and gracing this year's Pasadena Rose Parade is her court of princesses: Tatyane Anaid Berrios, 17, Arcadia High School; Sarah Christine Fredrickson, 17, Maranatha High School; Jessica Michelle Montoya, 17, Flintridge Preparatory School; Tenaya Miyoko Senzaki, 17, Pasadena High School; Kathryn Morris Thomson, 17, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy and Michelle Kaye Washington, 18, Pasadena City College.

Kanye West MONSTER Music Video (Official) Leaked

Was this music video leak intentional or not? Days before its intended release, Kanye West's Monster music video has hit the web. Monster is one of Kanye West's singles from his highly successful album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Monster also features Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj & Bon Iver.

The leaked music video of Monster is obviously not the finished version

- it's a rough cut and the synchronization is bad, but you can tell that it is going to be an epic video. We've been treated to a "the making of" version of Monster a couple of weeks ago, and that that whetted our appetite for the real thing. Though this leaked version of Monster is still not it, it's good enough for now.

Watch New Year's Eve Countdown LIVE From Times Square (VIDEO)

The annual New Year countdown and ball drop in Times Square, can anything be more exciting? Now on its 103nd year, the dropping of the giant crystal ball high above Times Square will again attract hundreds of thousands of revelers, eager to participate in the countdown to welcome the 2011. People have come from all over the United States and all over the world, for this experience.

For those of you planning to join the hundreds of thousands who will welcome 2011 in Times Square, better be prepared for the cold weather. Moreover, it is advisable to go there early to get a good vantage point. Revelers from all over New York usually come early to reserve the choice spots along Broadway, from 43rd Street to 50th Street, and along Seventh Avenue, up to 59th Street. Also, try to get there before 6 PM to see the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball raised to the top of the 77-foot flagpole at One Times Square and lit. At exactly 11:59 p.m. EST, the Ball will make its 60-second descent down the flagpole to signal the start of the New Year.

For those of us who don't have a chance to go to New York to watch this tradition LIVE, there are several choices. One is to tune in to any of the major television networks. They will all cover this event as there is no exclusive carrier of the Times Square New Year ball drop. The most famous of these coverages is, of course, the other American New Year's Eve tradition, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on ABC. The show centers around the New Year countdown and the dropping of the ball, after which musical number from the biggest names in the industry will be showcased.

Another option is to watch the 2011 Times Square countdown online. There are several websites that will feature live video streaming of the event. One such site is livevideo.com. They carried the event LIVE last year so I'm expecting them to do the same this year. You may also check this page for such videos as I will post a copy at the earliest possible time.

Rebel, The German Shepherd, Gets Head Stuck in Wall Hole: Rescued

Animal Services came to the rescue of a poor German Shepherd in Desert Hot Springs, California. The German Shepherd named Rebel, got his head stuck inside a hole in an 18-inch thick wall. Animal Services found Rebel whimpering and helpless. He must have been stuck in that hole for quite some time. But if he found a way to get his head in, there must be a way out.

"My initial reaction was, 'Wow, how?d he get in there?'" said Riverside County Animal Services Sergeant James Huffman. "And why is there a hole that big in the wall?"

After checking that Rebel could breathe comfortably, the officers then proceeded with the rescue. "One officer worked the dog?s head from one side of the wall, while the other officer worked the dog?s body on the other side," said a statement by the Department of Animal Services in Riverside County.

Queen Delighted With Her 1st Great Grandchild, Peter & Autumn Phillips' Baby Girl

The Queen is now a great grandmother. A baby girl born to Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn is the Queen's first great grandchild. The baby girl, who is 12th in line to the British throne, was born in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Her name is yet to be confirmed. Peter Phillips is the eldest grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. He is the son of Princess Anne and her former husband, Mark Phillips. He does not have a royal title because Princess Anne turned down the Queen's offer of honors for both her

children. Earlier this month, his sister, Zara Phillips, announced her engagement to the rugby player Mike Tindall.

Here is the statement of Buckingham Palace announcing the birth of the Queen's first great grandchild: "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Autumn's family have been informed and are delighted with the news."
